DO GOOD FEEL GOOD
Find a new cause to support, enrich your community though social and civic endeavors that you believe in.
THE PROJECT
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Young and seasoned professionals alike want to efficiently find ways to get involved with causes they believe in/are aligned with.
The direct correlation of time invested against experienced impact helps increase an individual's overall quality value of self worth while also benefitting the cause being served.
SOLUTION
I believe that through improving and simplifying the process, for people wanting to do good to find ways to get involved, we will achieve increased engagement, for users, and higher level of impact and effectiveness for the partner organizations.
RESEARCH PLAN
HYPOTHESIS
I believe that through improving the process for matching people wanting to volunteer/help with organizations, there will be increased impact and a higher level of engagement for both sides.
We will know this to be true when we see users successfully support one or more causes with a continued level of participation with a frequency of at least once a month
GOAL
The goal of this research is to better understand how people identify opportunities around volunteerism and service. Identification of pain points as well as user motivation around reasons their process and decision making.
METHOD
Identify Target Audience <Individuals/Organization/Companies-Corps>
User Research > Interviews > Review & Analysis > Synthesis of Data > Competitive Analysis
Design > Test > Improve > Repeat
PROCESS
USER INTERVIEWS & RESEARCH
4 user interviews [3 Users + 1* Executive Director of a Non Profit] of 30-45 min each in person, were conducted at the beginning of the process.
COMPETETIVE ANALYSIS
SYNTHESIS & PERSONAS
Based on the results from the user interviews and insights gained, two different personas for the platform were generated. The final product was focused on the main “Persona X”, but both were considered during the development of the wireframes and early prototypes.
DESIGN
USER FLOW + INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
Post user research, a User Flow based on a “happy path” and Hub & Spoke IA were established in parallel to Feature Prioritization exercises for the intended platform. These were also refined and update as the design was developed, tested and refined.
WIRE FRAMING & PROTOTYPING
Hand and Digital wireframe iterations for prototyping and user testing - rounds 2 and 4 of 6.
HIGHER FIDELITY PROTOTYPE AND USER TESTING
Higer fidelity mock ups and prototyping for user testing.
View the Invision Prototype
TAKE AWAYS
Benefits of repeated user testing & iterative design
Greater understanding and insight into the user’s reasoning around choices.
Design > Test > Improve > Repeat
Don't get attached to a solution as it will likely change several times due to user testing and iterations.
NEXT STEPS
Development of platform for organizations “users” side.
Enhance visual design
Continue testing with further changes implemented
Share and propose platform to Non-Profit/NGO stakeholders for further feedback and input
