INTRO
Hi, I’m Samee—a designer driven by strategic problem-solving and human-centered experiences. I thrive on crafting solutions that enhance usability and create meaningful impact. My innate curiosity and empathy push me to understand real user needs, while my background in architecture gives me a unique perspective on systems thinking and design iteration. From a young age, I’ve been drawn to improving existing structures—whether through doodles, sketches, or fully realized concepts.
BACKGROUND
Born and raised in Greater London, I studied Architecture at the University of Portsmouth, completing both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. During my postgrad, I was selected for an academic exchange with the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program, an experience that broadened my design approach and strengthened my collaborative skills.
After graduating in 2004, I spent a decade working with renowned architectural firms in London and San Francisco, contributing to hospitals, museums, high-end residential projects, and more. In 2013, I transitioned into construction and project management, joining a leading general contractor to deepen my understanding of the built environment from concept to execution.
My growing passion for user experience and digital design led me to pivot in 2017. I earned a UX Design certification from General Assembly, took on pro bono projects, and secured my first full-time UX role at a startup. This shift allowed me to merge my architectural problem-solving mindset with interactive, user-first digital experiences.
CURRENTLY
Since Spring 2021, I’ve been a Product Designer at Presence, shaping the future of teletherapy platforms for clinicians and students. I played a key role in designing Kanga, our first SaaS product, and continue to improve our core platform for both internal users and providers. Presence’s mission—to ensure students with learning disabilities receive the support they need—deeply resonates with me, aligning with my past work in education through Leap Arts.
With a background spanning architecture, project management, and experience design, I bring a holistic, systems-level approach to problem-solving. I thrive in collaborative, mission-driven environments and am eager for the next challenge—one where design, strategy, and empathy intersect to create seamless, impactful experiences.
